  • Dania Bowie, Development & Communications Coordinator (she/her/they/them)

    Cumberland, Maine

    Dania joined the team in 2020. Dania works as a facilitator, fundraiser, and storyteller to connect people to each other and resources, as well as open up the conversations about who has power and resources in communities and why. She is always glad to talk about how we can create a better nonprofit and philanthropic ecosystem for Maine communities.

    Dania is on the board and Political Leadership Team of the Southern Maine Workers Center and organized the People's March in January 2025. In her spare time, Dania enjoys writing, running, reading, and wearing many hats around the state. She has been a facilitator for the Maine Humanities Council and has been a fundamental collaborator with the Community Centric Fundraising Maine Chapter.

  • Destie Hohman Sprague, Executive Director (she/her)

    Bath, Maine

    Destie joined the Maine Women’s Lobby in 2020, after 11 years at the Maine Coalition Against Sexual Assault. She has focused her career on the belief that all people’s voices and experiences have a place in shaping our democracy, and that policy can change lives and help create thriving communities.

    She believes that building more feminist policy begins with building more feminist organizations and partnerships, and is working to create a multi-organization staffing collaborative to ensure that Maine’s feminist nonprofits have the power to build a Maine free from gender-based discrimination and all oppressions.

    Destie holds an undergraduate degree from Tulane University, and a Masters Degree in Public Policy. She lives in Bath with her partner and their teenager, and she loves growing, cooking, and eating food, neighborhood potlucks, and running.

  • Lily James, Advocacy Coordinator (she/her)

    Portland, Maine

    Lily joined the team in 2024. Lily most recently served as co-Executive Director of The Every Voice Coalition, an advocacy organization training and mobilizing college students and survivors to pass state-level legislation addressing campus sexual violence. Lily previously worked on reproductive rights policy with NARAL Pro Choice CT and voter engagement with Sister District Project, and in the offices of state and federal lawmakers.

    After several years living Downeast and in the Midcoast, Lily now lives in Portland and loves to hike, practice yoga, and sing in her choir.

  • Brook Ewing Minner, Information & Outreach Coordinator (she/her)

    Orrington, Maine

    Brook joined the team in 2022. Brook’s professional background is in librarianship but also as an activist and community organizer. Brook was a founding member of Main Street Bucksport, a community development organization working to promote vibrancy after the loss of a paper mill in that community. Her passion is in the intersection of social justice and community organizing.

    Brook has served as the Board President for the NextStep, the domestic violence project serving Hancock and Washington Counties, as well as on the Board for the Bagaduce Music Library. She also volunteers as a grant reviewer for Maine Community Foundation, for the Word Literary Festival, and as a DJ at WERU Community Radio.

    She’s parenting a teenager and takes great joy in learning from the next generation of activists. In her free time she enjoys taking long walks, cooking for friends, and reading as many books as possible.

  • Catie Reed, Partnerships & Programs Coordinator (she/her)

    Bangor, Maine

    Catie joined the team in 2022. She was most recently with Eastern Area Agency on Aging, where she collaborated on age-friendly initiatives and opened the agency’s adult community center. Prior to this project, Catie spent more than 10 years at Partners for Peace in the movement to end intimate partner violence. Her work focused on increasing capacity, broadening agency reach to rural populations, and enhancing systems to better respond to domestic abuse.

    Catie understands the importance of listening to others and values creative thinking that promotes systems change. She believes that when policies and practices are inclusive they benefit everyone. It is with this belief that Catie envisions a more equitable and just Maine.

    She enjoys adventures with her partner and two quirky dogs, and appreciates the humor that can be found in everyday moments.
