Maine Women’s Lobby Education Fund
The MWL Education Fund helps Mainers develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence to engage in feminist, anti-oppression-based public policy advocacy and civic life.
The MWL Education Fund does this through programming focused on community building and community-based data and policy analysis in order to increase knowledge, skills, and opportunities for citizens to engage in public policy change. Our core programs include:
Publishing the biennial Policy Roadmap for Economic Security, a comprehensive guide bringing together state and national data on the economic wellbeing of women and girls in Maine, with analysis on state and federal-level policy solutions that can support a more prosperous community for all Mainers.
Convening the biennial Maine Women's Summit. The 2019 Summit focused on #MaineToo, Taking Action Against Sexual Assault, Harassment and Exploitation, with guest speaker Tarana Burke, founder of the #MeToo movement.
Leadership development, such as the annual Girls' Day at the Statehouse - held every year since 1996!
Education, information, and connection. We gather community conversations to dream of a more feminist future for Mainers, and to help create the change to make those dreams a reality.
