Maine Women’s Lobby relies on volunteers to help with many different parts of our work.
Volunteer Opportunities
-
Opportunities for Citizen Action
Maine Women’s Lobby welcomes volunteers to offer testimony, write letters to the editor, lobby your legislators, and more. We can offer training and support.
-
Public Events
We use volunteers to help at lots of different events including conferences, festivals, fairs, and parades. We’d love to have you join us!
-
Host a House Party
If you’re interested in raising money to support our work, consider a house party! We can provide information and support. This is a low-key and fun way to support Maine Women’s Lobby!
-
Join a Committee
We welcome non-Board members to some of our Board committees as we strive for inclusive and diverse voices to help inform our work.
-
Youth Programs
We host middle school and high school aged children every spring for Girls’ Day at the State House and Youth Policy Leadership Forum to educate the next generation of feminist activist. Join us!
-
Join our Board
Each year we have an open call to recruit new Board members. If you’re interested in Board service, consider joining our Board. We would love to discuss why our Board might be great fit for you.
-
Data entry
Throughout the year, we have data entry work that needs to happen and volunteer help can help some of the pressure on our small staff. It’s simple and we can train you!
-
Mailings
Stuffing envelopes? Personalizing letters? We do mailings to connect with our donors, supporters, and partners and they are often labor intensive. The work is simple but many hands make light work.
-
Phone Bank
There are times when policy issues we’re working on require phone banking to engage supporters and activate the public. This can be done on your own time, from home, and we make it simple to use our online system.
-
Sponsor an Event
Do you own a business or have the capacity to help sponsor one of our events on your own? We’d love to connect with you! We give our sponsors lots of recognition and love and we’re so grateful for the people who help our support our work.
Learn, Share, & Connect
We regularly host or co-host events, actions, trainings, and other opportunities to take action for gender equity with our member community and partners. Connect with an opportunity or take a look at the statewide feminist calendar in our events tab!
