Maine’s Commission for Paid Family and Medical Leave will be presenting a plan for paid leave in Maine this winter. The Maine Paid Leave Coalition, which we coordinate, is now at 35 member organizations representing tens of thousands of Mainers. We are supporting the Commission and preparing for progress through grassroots organizing, policy analysis, and legislative advocacy. We are working hard to make sure the plan is strong and the Legislature passes and funds a bill in the spring.

But we know that might not be enough. That's why we have teamed up with Maine People’s Alliance to pursue a ballot initiative. We are gathering signatures right now to ensure that we have every possible pathway to paid leave next year. We plan to collect 40,000 signatures on Election Day, and we can’t do it without you.
