Election Action Institute Learning Series 2022
Sexism is still a regular feature of our political lives: women, trans, and queer people are less likely to run for office or to hold leadership positions, and when they do, they are more likely to face sexist attacks. And yet we know that women are more likely to vote, and when they run for office and vote, we all are more likely to get public policy that centers feminist values and improves the real lives of people in our communities.
This year, the Maine Women’s Lobby is hosting our Election Action Institute, because we know that we can move the needle by helping more feminists and gender-justice advocates be leaders in their communities, to educate candidates on the issues, and to energize their neighbors and community members to make noise for change. We can vote for gender justice, and we want you to be a part of it.
