Youth Policy Leadership Forum @ the State House

On April 29, we hosted an incredible group of high school students at the State House for our first-ever Youth Policy Leadership Forum! We heard from the Maine Education Association’s Grace Leavitt, Governor Janet Mills, Secretary of State Shenna Bellows, Maine State Archivist Kate McBrien, Senator Marianne Moore, Assistant Minority Leader Amy Arata, Representative Poppy Arford and more!

We visited committees, spoke with the legislators and clerks in the Cross Building, learned about how to navigate the State House, and took deep dives into the inner mechanisms of the halls of power. We were so lucky to have lunch with many awesome legislators.

Thank you to our team of volunteers, our community of sponsors, legislators, advocates, parents, guidance counselors, and everyone who helped make this program possible. It takes a village!
