Announcing: 2022 Legislative Priorities!

We’re thrilled to share our priorities for gender equity in the 130th Legislature, Second Regular Session (that just means… 2022). Our legislative advocacy focuses on the communities and populations most harmed by misogyny, sexism, and all forms of oppression. We support systems and proposals that increase the health, wellness, safety, and economic security of all people in Maine.

Many bills don’t have full language or an “LD number” (legislative document number - this means that the bill hasn’t been officially completed and published; once it is, it recieves an LD). We are still keeping our eyes on those proposals, but in the meantime, catch our full list of priorities here. It includes:

  • Access to period products

  • Childcare workforce supports

  • Tribal sovereignty

  • Addressing hunger

  • Increased protections against discrimination

  • and so much more!

All of our priorities are highlighted in our weekly legislative round-up. You can sign up here, and let us know if you have any questions!
